Post Red & All Blue

Monday. Staff Meeting. The day after the Red Carpet  and the storms that rocked the St. Louis area. I hope that you're all safe and didn't suffer any damage.

A busy week lies ahead for Tom Paule Photography (as usual) with lots of great things on tap.

Intersperse that with a lot of Blues trades........................ a wild day, and very interesting. Winchester? Really?

Get out there and have a great week.

Happy Friday

The crew is hard at work, its been a busy week encompassing almost all of the hats worn at Tom Paule Photography.

With a coating of new snow on the ground I will admit to missing that little blast of spring that happened last week--- where did it go? Soon enough we will all be discussing the heat and humidity that St. Louis is famous for.

Whatever your plans are this weekend I hope you have a great one. Enjoy your family & friends, rest up and get ready for the new week/new month.

Coming in early March: The NEW Tom Paule Photography Website!

St. Louis Wedding Awards Tonight

I'm excited to be not only attending the the annual St. Louis Wedding Awards sponsored by St. Louis Bride Magazine at the Union Station Marriott but better yet, I'm honored to photograph the event! This evenings event is absolutely the very BEST OF ST.LOUIS wedding vendors as they are honored for the work they accomplished the past year.

Everyone is looking forward to a time of catching up with The BEST wedding vendors, relaxing a little and of course finding out who won awards in the various categories.

Should be a fun time!

Start to a Busy Week

After a great weekend away it's time to get back to it----- a very busy week unfolds for the Tom Paule Photography Crew.

It starts off however with Monday Afternoon Hockey---- how does it get better than that???? The Hawks are in town and after the recent trades and the outstanding performance of the club Saturday night against the Ducks (whom they ROUTED!!!) it should be a great game.

Nothing like a sure to be rowdy hockey game to get everything going for the week. If you're a bride coming in this week--- I'm looking forward to seeing you as well as other clients new and old!

Let's Go Blues!

Finally Friday

It has been a VERY busy week around Tom Paule Photography---- not that I'm complaining! I love to be busy and meet clients old and new--- it is always a blast.

But Friday is here and I'm planning some away time with my family, like most of you-- it doesn't happen nearly often enough!

Whatever your plans are this weekend I hope you have a great time and stop to smell the roses along the way!

Almost Valentine's Day

Because I'm in the business of photographing people (and a few things along the way) I hear a lot in passing. It seems that this year everyone is looking forward to Valentine's Day.

Maybe last year we were all tired, or worried about finances with all of the news, or just not in the mood. Whether this year truly is a resurgence of love or if we're just ready to move on despite what the pundits tell us---- Valentine's Day looks like it will be a big one in 2011.

What do you have planned?

2/8/11

Filtered Light

There is almost nothing that impacts a photograph like LIGHT. Ask a photographer one of the most important elements to a stunning photo and they'll tell you that light plays an enormous part.

Ask any person walking the streets of St.Louis right now, whether they're a St. Louis Photographer (wedding, commercial, sports or otherwise) and they will tell you that the most important thing they know about light is that it is now getting dark so much later------- more sunlight!

Today is favoring us with 10 1/2 hours of sunlight (as opposed to December's dismal 9 + hours)------ but spring is coming! By March 1st we'll have 11 hours and 20 minutes of light!

I'm ready for spring!

Superbowl 2011 ----- All Cheese

Getting back to work on a very busy Monday after the Superbowl is always hard. Very Hard. I had a party at the house and it's always fun to see family and friends, that is the good part. The tough stuff comes from moving through too much food, a messy house in the wake of the party, maybe one Shock Top too many and a little tired from laughing at the commercials. Congrats to the Pack for winning the big game this year! We were all just happy to see a game that wasn't a blow out!

The commercials were great this year but one that was incredibly techie with tons of special visual effects deserves special mention, thanks KIA.

A very busy week lies ahead---------- it's going to be a good one! Hope your Monday (and your week) is great too!

Where in the Air is Tom?

More aerial shots from a recent sortie for clients.

Aberdeen Heights – Kirkwood MO – Paric Corporation

Westminster High School – Town and Country – Brinkmann Constructors

I love to go up in the helicopter! First just to FLY, it is exhilirating on all levels. Seeing St.Louis from above, getting that different vantage point normally not seen is a definite plus. Building a career that allows me to incorporate  my love of photography with flying makes it a good day!

Now................ see that bride down there? On the left? Waving her bouquet? Just kidding!

From the air---Chrysler Plant Demolition

Recently, I went up for my monthly aerials in the helicopter. It's an ongoing exercise to maintain currency in order to continue to photograph special shots for the corporate clients of Tom Paule Photography. Not only do I enjoy taking photographs not readily available to the average passerby but I love to fly! On the day I went up this month the skies were beginning to show signs of the storm that blanketed an enormous area of the midwest with snow and ice---- I had to hustle to get back down with my helicopter!

Below are two photos taken of the ongoing Chrysler Plant demolition. This enormous project is being undertaken by MCM Demolition, Inc., a full service demolition company based in Lexington, Kentucky.

You can still imagine how this busy plant looked "back in the day". Now things are looking very different from the air and from the street view as well.

Everyone in the STL area is anxious to hear what will happen with the property moving forward. I'll keep you posted with updates from the air.
